We are attempting to make our podcast VIRAL and Curtis has created this animation for your consideration. Please pass it around if you like it! It's got KITTIES!!!!
This is an animatic version of the roughs for a graphic novel I am illustrating for a company called The Healthy Aboriginal Network This project is very dear to my heart as it is an attempt to educate people about the residential schools here in Canada. This comic doesn't come close to describing the difficulties Native American children faced in these establishments.
I watched an awesome documentary called Muffins for Granny , by Nadia McLaren which details the schools from first hand encounters.
This was just crazy, the snow is piled up to the windows so we can see like a cross section of the snow kind of antfarm styles, and my mother always told me not to eat snow, because there were bugs in it I never believed her till today! 2 Flys and they are alive!
I decided to do a watercolor painting of my little godson Matthew. I decided it was time to practice what I preach and really plan stuff out. It looks like a long process but it really only took me like 2 hours from start to finish I spent more time planning it out than I did on the actual painting, It was great because it made it almost fool proof Here's what I did:
I started with a sketch from a Photo showing the areas of color change
Then I worked out some color studies in Pencil crayon. This first one was getting to complicated
so i decided to SIMPLIFY
first layer of light washes
Added in some more washes of shadows
More details and salt texture to the background cause it makes it feel a bit wintery
Final Painting all framed up, forgot to turn off my flash though, OOPS!
We totally gutted our bathroom, i forgot to take "before" fotos, didn't think about it till curtis had already taken everything out, we had our old toilet out on the front porch for a few days imagine what the neighbors thought, haha
This is an homage to a work by my friend Photographer Stephanie Nairn! I loved this picture that she took some time ago and have been wanting to do a drawing from it
To all my friends I hope you have a most excellent holiday season! and to my enemies.......you'll get yours!Bwhahahahahaha just kidding, I hope you have a good holiday too!

This a piece from life drawing class, each of the students took turns sitting for 2-3 min in the same chair, and we had to draw each of them over the other, erasing some parts and leaving in other parts, this is what came out, curtis said it looks sexual....what a perv!!
We’ll it was a sad day yesterday, I went to the beach to find my artwork totally Obliterated! Someone or ones, had smashed every rock into smithereens. so that was pretty crazy, I can't rebuild it, but it was cool while it lasted. I think it's pretty cool that it did effect at least 2 people into action, one to add to it (the feather) and another into total outrage, they would have had to sit there for quite a while to smash 4' of rocks, anyway this is the last photo I did before the annihilation....Red Circle, we will remember you.......
Added a bit more, I guess some rocks will keep appearing over time so I don't know when this will end... I'm obsessed! These are some other earthworks I did, Curtis said this one looks like a vagina? I don't know what he's talking about, I call it Vagin Rouge
and another mini rockline I did it's tiny and so cute AWWWW hehe (not as cool as the first one though :P ...)
From a little while ago, I added seaweed since there was some orangy seaweed that got washed up after the big rain storm last week, anyone ever seen orange seaweed before? like what the hell? that water is definately polluted to the max!!!
The next day I went back and someone decided to ADD their own artistic touch to the piece....I was not impressed!!!
I loved everyones stories for my last homework assignment, here's my final assignment it was about facial expressions, I chose Sadness, anyone care to guess at the story here?
I'm running out of rocks!!! man this last time it was really hard to find enough to make the circle bigger, so this project might be done soon ya never know, this is from earlier this week:
i don't know aht's upp with that but i started working on this and it started raining so i didn't get a chance to put it in circle form afn i had to go back the next day to take the picture.
Rock Line, a side project I did while working on the Red Circle
These are some earthworks by a famous artist Andy Goldsworthy where i got the idea for mine, he does these crazy eggs made from rocks that keep falling apart before he finishes
Here is my second installment of the red circle. I think this piece will be harder than I thought, because when I went back to the beach it was trashed, at first I thought the water may have gone up that far but there were still small stones left so I guess it was just everyday traffic, or those ornery "kiwi" kids!!! I hate them! Thankfully most of the rocks I collected were still in relatively the same area so I believe each time I go back I will have to "rebuild" my previous work then expand on it. ANYWAY it is about 3' in diameter now. I am debating on leaving the "hole" in the middle? Any thoughts?
Hi everyone i want to challenge everyone to do some time-based art!!! it'll be fun!!! i did this red circle at the beach and everytime i go running i will add more rocks to it until it's huge! it's only about 2.5 feet right now, and i will document it and put it on the ol' blog. DO IT OR ELSE!! you can do whatever medium you can think of!
These are some huge dead fish I found along the beach by my place about 7 or 8 of them, they were like 3' each, and so gross even the seagulls weren't biting!!!! check out the teeth! I touched one.......ewwwwww
here's a painting i did of curtis last night, it's 2'x3' . one of the pictures has a bit of shine from the flash, bummer!!! well i have to go be judged by my "peers" at school, haha.
Another sketch i did the other night. i need more practice with markers!!! I just want to color stuff in like a coloring book!haha.........that is all.
